Samsung J5500 LED TV Calibration Settings

Here are the picture calibration settings that we used on our Samsung J5500 LED TV for our review.

If you find our settings too dark, increase 'Backlight' as much as you want. This won't affect the colors of the picture, contrary to 'Brightness,' which could clip the shadows.

Turn on 'Digital Clean View' for DVDs or cable content. Leave 'HDMI Black Level' set to Auto, unless you are sending a full 0-255 range, like in our case.

What is the basis for coming up with these picture settings? How did you come up with them?
Using a spectro-photometer, we calibrate all the TVs we review the same way. Our goal is to reach a white luminosity of 100 cd/m2 with a white balance of 6500k and colors that matches rec 709. The settings you see here are the settings we got after calibration.

Acorn isn't available on any of Samsung's 2015 TVs right now.
We are not taking any more questions for this product because we no longer have it in our lab.
