The Parrot Zik 2.0 are an above-average, feature-packed set of headphones. The design is stylish and comfortable, but the unique touch controls can get a little frustrating. By default, the audio reproduction is also only satisfactory, though this can be improved by adjusting settings through a bundled app.

Much effort was put into the design of the Zik 2.0 and it shows. They look great. The frame is all metal, and feels sturdy and durable. The ear cups are soft and comfortable on the ears, although the ear hole is a little small. The unique touch controls are an unfortunate negative, and can get a little infuriating. Accidentally raising the volume, or stopping or skipping tracks, is common.

The Zik 2.0s look and feel premium. The sleek metal headband is moderately padded and has a unique hinge mechanism that looks well-thought-out and polished.The oval ear cups are large, well-padded and match the headband which comes in many color variations. They look amazing, feel amazing, and are definitely a pair of stylish headphones.

These headphones lose points for the "Smart Touch Panel". Although the design is very clever, the lack of tactile and visual cues means that mistakes are inevitable. The Zik 2.0 also has a sensor that turns them off when they are not being used, to save battery.

The Zik 2.0 like the Zik 3.0, deliver an above-average listening experience. They're sufficiently tight on your head and won't slip off during moderate physical activity. Sadly, these are not sports headphones and the large ear cups and weight of the headphones makes them sway a little when running.

The Zik 2.0 are decently portable headphones. They have relatively small ear cups that fold flat, to not take too much space. However, they do not fold into a more compact format, which may be too bulky for smaller handbags and won't fit in any pockets, even larger jacket pockets.

The Zik 2.0 have good isolation performance. The added Parrot Zik app allows great control over the somewhat-decent active noise cancelation. The large, plush ear cups provide a great seal that leak very little sound. That combination makes the Zik 2.0 a well isolated pair of headphones that are convenient for traveling or noisy commutes even if they generate a bit of self-noise.

The Zik 2.0 have an average wireless range and a mediocre battery life but an excellent bundled app that gives you a wide array of practical and customizable options. They only deliver about 6 hours of continuous playback and take quite a bit of time to charge. However, thanks to the control over the active features that the app provides, you have access to an adjustable auto-off timer which saves a lot of power. They can also play audio while charging which is practical if you have access to a power outlet.

The Parrot Zik 2.0 have an average wireless range that won't be the most far-reaching in obstructed conditions. They managed to hold a steady connection above 30ft when the Bluetooth source was placed in another room. However, compared to some less expensive headphones, their range is not the most reliable, which is not ideal for large offices or a big house with many rooms and walls. It would be great to see clamp force measurements for on and over-ear headphones as it can definitely sway my buying decision.

It would be good to add a "noise cancellation" evaluative metric to noise-cancelling headphones, wouldn't you think? And maybe instead spend a little less time on appearance and how it's packaged?
We actually do test both the active and passive noise cancellation of headphones. For each setting (passive/active), we perform measurements at three different angles and calculate the average to get what we call the Overall Attenuation. You can see the results of our noise-cancelling tests here
